The latest [1]Nova Lake enablement work for the Linux kernel to land is adding support for Nova Lake S platforms to the Intel LPSS driver in the upcoming [2]Linux 7.0 kernel.

The Intel LPSS driver is for their Low Power Subsystem for driving interfaces like SPI and HS-UART. With the Linux 7.0 kernel, all of the necessary IDs are now in place for next-gen Nova Lake S hardware. No other driver changes were needed besides needing the new IDs.

That NVL-S support for the Intel LPSS driver landed via the multi-function device (MFD) pull request for Linux 7.0. That pull also landed support for the ROHM BD72720 PMIC, Rockchip RK801 PMIC, ROHM BD73900 PMIC, Delta Networks TN48M, and TS133 variant for the QNAP MCU.

Also making the [3]MFD pull request notable for Linux 7.0 is now wiring up the RTC, HWMON, and input sub-devices for the Apple System Management Controller (MACSMC) driver.
