Myrlyn 1.0 Released For Package Manager GUI Spawned By SUSE's Hack Week

([SUSE] 6 Hours Ago Myrlyn 1.0)

Myrlyn 1.0 was released today as the package manager GUI developed by SUSE engineers and started out just over one year ago during a SUSE Hack Week event as a SUSE/Qt package manager program not dependent upon YaST or Ruby.

Myrlyn [1]began life as YQPkg and then [2]renamed to Myrlyn as it continued tacking on more features for this modern package manager GUI optimized for SUSE/openSUSE Linux environments. Myrlyn is written with the Qt6 toolkit and depends upon Zypper's libzypp as its back-end.

Myrlyn 1.0.0 released today as a stable release for the project. Myrlyn 1.0 adds support for community repos with openSUSE Leap 16.0, much improved zypp history browser, dependency resolver mode improvements, and a variety of other enhancements.

Downloads and more details on Myrlyn 1.0 for this modern package manager GUI great for SUSE/openSUSE can be found via [3]GitHub .
