ReactOS Lands Improvements For Its USB Stack - Fixing Various Blue Screens of Death

([Operating Systems] 3 Hours Ago ReactOS - Better USB)

[1]ReactOS as the open-source operating system aiming to be an "open-source Windows" by striving for binary compatibility with Windows programs and device drivers is now slightly better with its USB support.

ReactOS developers [2]shared news today that a number of bug fixes for USB drivers have been merged. In particular, it should fix various Blue Screen of Death (BSoD) issues reported when running ReactOS on real hardware with USB. They remarked, " USB stack is now reported to be a bit more stable ;) "

The [3]pull request opened last month and merged today have various USB stack stability improvements. It should fix reported bugs around USB port assertions when some USB devices are connected and also a USB issue reported for Intel Haswell hardware. It's likely these USB patches should fix some other possible issues as well encountered on this longtime open-source OS.

ReactOS continues striving for its lofty but respected goals as we roll toward 2026.

"How do you know she is a unicorn?" Molly demanded. "And why were you afraid
to let her touch you? I saw you. You were afraid of her."
"I doubt that I will feel like talking for very long," the cat
replied without rancor. "I would not waste time in foolishness if I were
you. As to your first question, no cat out of its first fur can ever be
deceived by appearances. Unlike human beings, who enjoy them. As for your
second question --" Here he faltered, and suddenly became very interested
in washing; nor would he speak until he had licked himself fluffy and then
licked himself smooth again. Even then he would not look at Molly, but
examined his claws.
"If she had touched me," he said very softly, "I would have been
hers and not my own, not ever again."
