EasyEffects 8.0 Released In Porting From GTK4 To Qt / QML / Kirigami

([Desktop] 3 Hours Ago EasyEffects 8.0)

EasyEffects is the open-source application formerly known as PulseEffects that transitioned to using native PipeWire filters for providing simple audio effects on the Linux desktop. EasyEffects makes it easy to apply different audio effects like bass enhancer, compressor, pitch shift, reverberation, and many more. With this week's release of EasyEffects 8.0, the user interface has been rewritten in Qt / QML / Kirigami rather than GTK4.

This audio effects desktop manager is now aligned with the Qt, QML, and KDE/Kirigami frameworks rather than relying on the GTK4 toolkit.

EasyEffects 8.0 also brings built-in tray icon and menu support, the UI is friendlier to small screens, preset improvements, various effect enhancements, and a avariety of other enhancements. The project's [1]CHANGELOG file outlines the many EasyEffects 8.0 changes.

For those not having used EasyEffects or not in a while, here is how their former GTK4 user interface appeared:

A grade school teacher was asking students what their parents did
for a living. "Tim, you be first," she said. "What does your mother do
all day?"
Tim stood up and proudly said, "She's a doctor."
"That's wonderful. How about you, Amie?"
Amie shyly stood up, scuffed her feet and said, "My father is a
mailman."
"Thank you, Amie," said the teacher. "What about your father, Billy?"
Billy proudly stood up and announced, "My daddy plays piano in a
whorehouse."
The teacher was aghast and promptly changed the subject to geography.
Later that day she went to Billy's house and rang the bell. Billy's father
answered the door. The teacher explained what his son had said and demanded
an explanation.
Billy's father replied, "Well, I'm really an attorney. But how do
you explain a thing like that to a seven-year-old child?"
