Intel Thermal Daemon 2.5.10 Released With A Few Improvements

As the first update to the Intel Thermal Daemon since February when [1]v2.5.9 brought Panther Lake support , Intel Thermal Daemon 2.5.10 was tagged on Thursday.

Intel Thermal Daemon is the open-source software to help monitor and control the CPU/SoC temperatures within laptops and other Intel edge hardware. Intel Thermal Daemon is able to help optimize power/performance in conjunction with the Intel P-State driver and other Intel Linux kernel drivers.

The listed changes with the Intel Thermal Daemon 2.5.10 release include:

- For new ITMT string version 3 support

- There was issue in updating path for DPTF files for Panther Lake

- Minor print format for time_t value

- Don't reset clamping bit for RAPL for MSR rapl zones when disabled

- Add confitional power floor processing

Most notable is arguably refining the Intel Panther Lake support.

The only disadvantage I see is that it would force everyone to get Perl.
