GNOME's libadwaita Introduces Adaptive Sidebar Widget

([GNOME] 3 Hours Ago AdwSidebar)

Following last week's [1]GNOME 49 release , This Week in GNOME is out with their latest weekly summary of all interesting GNOME developments. Notable now for this post-49.0 time is libadwaita adding an adaptive sidebar widget.

AdwSidebar has been added to libadwaita as an adaptive sidebar widget. There is also AdwViewSwitcherSidebar as a view switcher variant. These libadwaita additions are intended to be a replacement to GTK's GtkStackSidebar widget.

Those curious about this new libadwaita adaptive sidebar widget and other GNOME changes post-49.0 can see [2]This Week in GNOME for all the details.

I sat laughing snidely into my notebook until they showed me a PC running
Linux. And oh! It was as though the heavens opened and God handed down a
client-side OS so beautiful, so graceful, and so elegant that a million
Microsoft developers couldn't have invented it even if they had a hundred
years and a thousand crates of Jolt cola.
