Shotcut 25.08 Brings More Bug Fixes To This Open-Source Video Editor

([Multimedia] 37 Minutes Ago Shotcut 25.08)

Released last month was [1]Shotcut 25.07 with many improvements to this popular open-source and cross platform video editor. Released today was Shotcut 25.08 to provide more fixes atop that latest video editor release.

Shotcut 25.08 is just about shipping more bug fixes on top of last month's feature release. There isn't anything big and shiny about Shotcut 25.08 but it's just another step forward for this popular video editing option on Linux systems especially.

The Shotcut 25.08 release highlights come down to:

- Fixed Gain/Volume filter from a previous version project does not show its UI or keyframes (broke in v25.07).

- Fixed artifacts in Gain/Volume, Fade In Audio, and Fade Out Audio filters (broke in v25.07).

- Fixed frequent crashing in Fedora Linux RPM package (broke in v25.05).

- Fixed converting BT.709 color space to BT.2020.

- Added BT.2020 color space support to the preview.

- Added Embed Markers as Chapters to export job context menu.

Arguably most interesting is the BT.2020 color space support for the video preview.

phoronix

I have a little shadow that goes in and out with me,
And what can be the use of him is more than I can see.
He is very, very like me from the heels up to the head;
And I see him jump before me, when I jump into my bed.

The funniest thing about him is the way he likes to grow--
Not at all like proper children, which is always very slow;
For he sometimes shoots up taller, like an india-rubber ball,
And he sometimes gets so little that there's none of him at all.
