Rust Makes Progress On Async Rust Experience, Stabilizing Tooling For Rust In The Kernel

([Programming] 5 Hours Ago Rust Projects)

The Rust project this morning published a status update on some of their top project goals, including for enhancing the async Rust experience to make it closer to the sync programming experience as well as stabilizing the tooling needed for Rust programming use within the Linux kernel.

Rust core developers continue work on enhancing the async programming experience within Rust. Some of their recent initiatives include improved support for async-fn-in-traits, progress towards sync and async generators, better ergonomics of Pin, and other changes. In turn these improvements will ultimately lead to more async libraries being created in the Rust world.

Rust developers also continue stabilizing the tooling needed for a nice Rust development experience for the Linux kernel. Features like ABI-modifying flags, stabilizing build-std, and better integration with the Linux kernel's build system continue to materialize. Some new Rust language items also continue to be sorted out for enhancing the Rust for the Linux kernel experience.

Some of the Rust development goals that they are seeking developer help on include promoting their parallel front-end and stabilize public/private dependencies.

Those wanting to learn more about these different development goals/projects happening within the Rust programming language camp can learn more on the [1]Rust-Lang.org blog .

In case you missed it, earlier this month the Rust project [2]celebrated its ten year anniversary for this programming language focused on memory safety and other modern features.
