PowerVR Rogue BXS-4-64 GPU Firmware Uploaded To linux-firmware.git

([Hardware] 63 Minutes Ago Imagination BXS-4-64 GPU)

For going along with kernel DRM driver changes expected for the Linux 6.16 kernel, the Imagination PowerVR BXS-4-64 GPU firmware has now been upstreamed to linux-firmware.git for readying that open-source driver support for this PowerVR Rogue GPU.

Imagination Tech engineers have been working on [1]open-source PowerVR driver support for the BXS-4-64 GPU as found within the TI AM68. That material is in drm-misc-next ahead of the Linux 6.16 cycle while now the firmware binary has been upstreamed to linux-firmware.git as the other piece needed to enjoy working GPU acceleration with this Rogue GPU.

Working with the open-source PowerVR DRM kernel driver is then the Mesa PowerVR Vulkan driver for enabling Vulkan API use or OpenGL if going through Zink. Those interested in the 155KB binary firmware blob needed for this GPU support can find it via [2]this commit .

We may not be able to persuade Hindus that Jesus and not Vishnu should
govern their spiritual horizon, nor Moslems that Lord Buddha is at the
center of their spiritual universe, nor Hebrews that Mohammed is a major
prophet, nor Christians that Shinto best expresses their spiritual
concerns, to say nothing of the fact that we may not be able to get
Christians to agree among themselves about their relationship to God.
But all will agree on a proposition that they possess profound spiritual
resources. If, in addition, we can get them to accept the further
proposition that whatever form the Deity may have in their own theology,
the Deity is not only external, but internal and acts through them, and
they themselves give proof or disproof of the Deity in what they do and
think; if this further proposition can be accepted, then we come that
much closer to a truly religious situation on earth.
