LibreSSL 4.1 released today as the newest version of this SSL/TLS library project forked a decade ago by OpenBSD from OpenSSL.
LibreSSL 4.1 introduces new SHA-1, SHA-256, and SHA-512 Assembly implementations for x86_64 with modern AMD and Intel processors. These new SHA-1/SHA-256/SHA-512 implementations for x86_64 make use of the SHA-NI instructions when available and replay old Perl-generated Assembly code.
LibreSSL 4.1 also has new SHA-256 and SHA-512 implementations for AArch64 making use of the ARM Cryptographic Extension (CE).
Another CPU improvement with LibreSSL 4.1 is introducing experimental support for the LoongArch 64-bit Chinese CPU architecture.
LibreSSL 4.1 also brings error handling improvements, many bug fixes, reworked CPU capabilities detection for both AMD64 and AArch64, and a variety of other improvements.
