([Microsoft] 18 Minutes Ago Azure Linux 3.0.20250402)

Yesterday brought the newest update to Microsoft's in-house Linux distribution, Azure Linux. The Azure Linux 3.0.20250402 brought many package updates mostly in the name of shipping security fixes plus brought new instructions on making use of the AMD graphics driver stack under this Microsoft Linux distribution along with various other updates.

Azure Linux 3.0.20250402 brought many package updates to ship the newest CVE fixes for the likes of Kubernetes, Python, Qt, GNU Binutils, libssh, LibreSwan, MariaDB, and many other packages. Plus there were routine package updates for its Linux 6.6 LTS kernel, various Python components, OpenSSL speed fixes, and other build changes.

The Azure Linux 3.0.20250402 announcement also mentioned an AMDGPU installation instruction document added. Microsoft has been working on [1]expanding the AMD graphics driver support for Azure Linux and maintaining a package repository with extra bits. This new documentation helps ease the process a bit for those wondering how to go about getting the AMD graphics driver stack up and running on Azure Linux. The current revision of the document can be found via [2]this merge that outlines use of the "azurelinux-repos-amd" repository.

Dear Ms. Postnews:
I couldn't get mail through to somebody on another site. What
should I do?
-- Eager Beaver

Dear Eager:
No problem, just post your message to a group that a lot of people
read. Say, "This is for John Smith. I couldn't get mail through so I'm
posting it. All others please ignore."
This way tens of thousands of people will spend a few seconds scanning
over and ignoring your article, using up over 16 man-hours their collective
time, but you will be saved the terrible trouble of checking through usenet
maps or looking for alternate routes. Just think, if you couldn't distribute
your message to 9000 other computers, you might actually have to (gasp) call
directory assistance for 60 cents, or even phone the person. This can cost
as much as a few DOLLARS (!) for a 5 minute call!
And certainly it's better to spend 10 to 20 dollars of other people's
money distributing the message than for you to have to waste $9 on an
overnight letter, or even 25 cents on a stamp!
Don't forget. The world will end if your message doesn't get through,
so post it as many places as you can.
