Last weekend [1]FreeDesktop.org began transitioning to their new server/cloud infrastructure after recently finding out [2]their sponsored Equinix Metal services were shutting down . Following the complex migration process this past week, FreeDesktop.org GitLab is up and running on the Hetzner server infrastructure in Germany.
The [3]gitlab.freedesktop.org is serving from the Hetzner servers in Germany, the migration tracker is removed, and there are repositories being updated. I haven't found any official announcement but given those details and particularly the migration tracker now removed, it appears the migration is complete and on-schedule for its 22 March wrap-up.

Some projects like Mesa haven't seen any new commits land now in a week but with time will begin catching up from their downtime. From my connection at least, FreeDesktop.org GitLab is serving much quicker than before as would be a nice improvement compared to their prior infrastructure. We'll see if it remains consistently faster or if it's perhaps a side effect of less CI/CD jobs firing up and other services with the open-source developers now getting caught up in their tickets and merge requests.
